About your role
As our Business Development Manager you will be the engine driving growth in IXOM’s Food & Beverage division across New Zealand. In this varied role you will engage new and existing customers, develop compelling business proposals, and showcase our innovative technologies and unrivalled supply record. You'll lead the way showcasing the IXOM value proposition in Food & beverage hygiene in direct and indirect channels. With a key focus on cleaning & sanitation solutions, you will strive to help our customers to link the compelling IXOM product offering with delivery of exceptional hygiene standards in food manufacturing.
This role is all about growing relationships, revenue and the IXOM brand. To be successful in this role you will be an outstanding communicator who thrives on winning new business and owning the relationship of those customers. In addition to securing new business you will lead the engagement of large corporate accounts. If you enjoy building long-term relationships with prospective and current customers as well as showing evidence of strong negotiating and influencing skills this exciting role could suit you.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver on business growth targets aligned to new accounts, enhanced products and new technology.
- Manage the business development and opportunities pipeline across the Food & Beverage division.
- Regular travel nationally to support business review meetings, site surveys and for tender bids and presentations.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with corporate customer teams—Operations, Quality, Procurement, hygiene teams, H&S, and Environmental.
- Keep corporate customers informed with timely updates on pricing, supply changes, compliance, and recent innovations.
- Support and lead national F&B team initiatives and projects to enhance brand
- Share market insights with commercial teams to inform strategy.
- Collaborate with IXOM teams (Water, Dairy, Trading) to boost brand presence and unlock growth.
Who are we looking for?
- Evidence of business development and securing high value customers
- Technical sales expertise with a needs-based approach
- Evidence of strong negotiation skill set.
- Strong financial acumen and data analysis capability
- Evidence of managing large corporate customers in FMCG.
- Industry experience in chemicals, food, or beverage sectors
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM software and Power BI
- Skills in SAP including Connect would be advantageous.
- Understanding of food & beverage processing, cleaning, and sanitation. Knowledge of detergents and chemical handling would be advantageous.
- A degree in science, food science or other technical related discipline would be advantageous
