About your role
Take charge of a well-established customer portfolio in the NZ Food & Beverage sector, covering the Auckland and Northland regions. You'll be the go-to for day-to-day account management—delivering technical service, driving compliance, and supporting productivity initiatives and projects across key customer operations. With a key focus on cleaning & sanitation technology, you will strive to help our customers make products to an exceptional hygiene standard.
This role is all about growing relationships and revenue. You’ll deepen engagement with existing clients while actively hunting new business opportunities across IXOM’s cleaning, sanitation, and institutional product lines. With a strong focus on needs-based selling, you’ll expand our footprint and boost market share in a competitive, fast-paced industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver on customer contracts and service level agreements through training, testing, audits, chemical reviews, and technical product support.
- Regular service time on customer sites (not an office based role) including the requirement for overnight travel.
- Drive territory performance to meet financial targets.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with customer teams—Operations, Quality, Procurement, hygiene teams, H&S, and Environmental.
- Grow the territory by converting F&B clients to IXOM products and securing new business.
- Keep customers informed with timely updates on pricing, supply changes, compliance, and recent innovations.
- Support national F&B team initiatives and projects, including travel outside your region.
- Share market and competitor insights with commercial teams to inform strategy.
- Collaborate with IXOM teams (Water, Dairy, Trading) to boost brand presence and unlock growth.
Who are we looking for?
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM software and Power BI
- Skills in SAP including Connect advantageous.
- Strong financial acumen and data analysis capability
- Technical sales expertise with a needs-based approach
- Deep understanding of food & beverage processing, cleaning, and sanitation. Knowledge of detergents and chemical handling advantageous.
- Proven success in solution selling. Skilled in negotiation and customer engagement
- Industry experience in chemicals, food, or beverage sectors
- A degree in science, food science or other technical related discipline advantageous
