Your role
Based in our East Melbourne Head Office and reporting to the Sales Manager – Industrial/Agriculture, this role offers a blend of business development and commercial activities. As an Account Manager at IXOM, your role is to maintain and grow sales by exploring new opportunities within existing and dormant accounts. You will be primarily maintaining relationships with your customers via phone with a few on-site visits each month. As a Junior Professional, you will undertake professional and technical development plans, be mentored by industry professionals and join the IXOM Professional Networking Group to develop your business skill and learning opportunities. This provides exciting future career options in a great business and industry.
Your responsibilities
- Build and own strong customer relationships through effective account and territory management, timely action of customer queries and proactive follow up
- Ensure a high standard of communication at a business level so that the Ixom Value Proposition is recognised and valued
- Generate leads through customer interaction (e.g. calls, written correspondence)
- Maintain business growth with a pipeline of new opportunities
- Review account performance to inform account prioritisation decisions (e.g. shift greater attention onto growth accounts)
- Work with Product Managers & Supply Chain business partner to develop bespoke supply chain solutions as required
- Provide market intelligence to Industry Leads and Product Managers to inform pricing, product plans and industry strategies
- Maintain and update detailed customer information in the IXOM CRM System
- Deliver annual Volume, Revenue & Gross Margin targets for the customer patch.
Your skills & experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work well with a team
- Highly organised, self-driven and motivated
- 2-3 years relevant work experience with sales, account managing or similar
- Tertiary Qualification in Business, Science or Engineering – desired
- Logistics or chemical manufacturing/industry experience is highly regarded
