Your role

Due to internal growth, we are currently searching for a Chlorine Distribution Lead to join our friendly Distribution team based in our Melbourne head office, OR our Botany (NSW) site.

Reporting into our Warehouse/Distribution Manager, this role is responsible for national chlorine scheduling, to maintain optimal stock levels. The Distribution Lead will be responsible for overseeing stock management, and management of “Trace and Track” app.

The Distribution Lead will liaise with the distribution team and carriers to resolve any discrepancies and resolving any issues in the Chlorine Gas supply chain.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Customer Satisfaction: accountable for achievement of customer service targets (customer complaints number and resolution through corrective actions, DIFOT) and implementation of cost effective service delivery models for chlorine distribution (number and type of customer complaints, DIFOT, cost benchmarking)
  • Reverse Logistics: Continuously improve, manage and monitor the chlorine container assets and reverse logistics network
  • Asset scheduling: Effectively manage the scheduling of chlorine drum and cylinder movements to ensure stock levels are maintained through the domestic network
  • Track and Trace: Champion the use of the Track and Trace application to optimise it's utilisation, effectiveness and accuracy
  • Stock Management: Effectively manage stock count processes for chlorine assets to ensure packaging asset record accuracy
  • Transport Costs: Resolve chlorine distribution actual costs vs contract costs (contract costs vs actual costs)
  • Carrier Performance: Manage chlorine distribution carrier performance to contract KPIs and for ongoing performance improvement and contribute to effective carrier quarterly reviews (contract KPIs, improvements delivered)
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement (in conjunction with Commercial teams) opportunities to meet business revenue or margin improvement targets through improved chlorine network design, introduction of technology and carrier optimisation (projects outcomes e.g: $ savings, improved on time delivery, reduced customer complaints, reduced customer inventory/lead time etc.)
  • Cross Functional Support: Develop and sustain strong internal and external relationships to deliver cross functional business improvements, whilst ensuring internal stakeholders operate within commercial and SH&E framework (SH&E compliance on projects, project team feedback)
  • Supply Chain Development: Support Commercial team with innovative chlorine distribution supply chain solutions that provide a competitive advantage for new business and growth opportunities (number of projects supported, outcomes, project team feedback)

 

Your skills & experience

  • Significant experience in logistics environment, including experience with freight and load restraint.
  • Min. intermediate MS Excel skills, advanced skills an advantage
  • Previous experience of Project Management
  • Effective communication skills and ability to influence diverse stakeholders
  • Experience communicating with senior leadership
  • Previous exposure to warehouse and delivery systems
  • SAP experience is highly regarded
  • Involvement in the development of software systems and training packages is highly regarded
