About your role

 

We are looking for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join our collaborative Life Sciences team in Melbourne on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This role supports our Life Sciences stakeholders with financial and analytical insights, helping to align with business needs. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, you’ll contribute across a range of tasks in a genuine partnering capacity.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Partner with the commercial business leaders to improve financial outcomes, support decision making and identify & implement strategic growth initiatives
  • Active contributor to all Contract Approval Requests covering new contracts, renewals, tenders and pricing submissions
  • Ensure commercial arrangements progress through a robust financial model and decision-making framework to ensure they add value, meet agreed KPIs and mitigate risk
  • Support the pricing strategy by delivering efficient pricing to improve the quality of earnings on all products across the portfolio
  • Support on investment decisions by constructing business cases with integrated financial models to support growth activities and to assess business risks/opportunities
  • Support the Finance Business Partner across a variety of tasks including presentations for Senior Executives

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • Tertiary qualified in Finance/Accounting discipline
  • Experience in commercial finance, pricing or analytical role in a manufacturing organisation
  • Background in the pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or FMCG is preferred but not essential
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and working knowledge using data analytics tools (Power BI preferred)
  • High degree of commercial acumen with previous business partnering experience
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in an analysis role; comfortable working with large data sets
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment and flexibility to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to work with people at all levels, with confidence to challenge in the right way to influence better outcomes
  • Highly regarded is having ERP knowledge (preferably SAP)
