Continuous Improvement Manager - Supply Chain

The Role


The Continuous Improvement Manager – Supply Chain will be responsible for charting the path for IXOM to grow its capability in process improvement to achieve a highly efficient Supply Chain. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, the role will be responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of business wide Supply Chain improvements.

The aim of the role is to make it easy for our customers and our people to do business with us, improve productivity and build a culture of process excellence.




  • Integrate Continuous Improvement principles into the IXOM Way to ensure that every individual understands how they can continuously enhance customer service daily
  • Establish principles and systems to facilitate Operational Excellence practices
  • Deliver a culture change able to sustainably and continuously improve all aspects of the business related to efficiency, safety and quality
  • Developing and driving the IXOM Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence strategy and detailed roll out plan
  • Design new and align existing systems to enable to deployment and cementing the strategy
  • Training and Coaching staff to become adept and self-sustaining at process improvement
  • Contributing technical support to achieve process and cost improvements across the whole of IXOM
  • Implementing standardised project management processes and tools
  • Use LEAN, Six Sigma, TOC, Agile and structured problem-solving techniques
  • Initial focus will be on Value stream mapping and reengineering of the OTC and PTP processes.


Skills & Experience


  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering, Science or a related field
  • Certification in Lean and Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
  • Hands-on experience delivering operational excellence utilising LEAN tools, techniques and methodologies with a track record of delivering measurable improvement
  • Previous industry experience or operations/management experience in Continuous Improvement / LEAN, preferably in the Chemical Manufacturing Industry
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities and strong problem-solving ability and rigour in problem analysis
  • Strong stakeholder management and experience in interacting with business management and operations teams
  • Coaching, training and collaborating with teams to grow and achieve demonstrable and measurable bottom line results
