About your role
This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role as Deputy Chief Financial Officer at IXOM. A newly created role, working closely with the CFO, CEO, ELT, and Board, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, leading performance, and driving operational excellence across the Group. You’ll oversee commercial finance, reporting, and financial control, while mentoring a talented finance team and building future leadership capability. With a strong focus on simplification, accuracy, and insight, you’ll ensure financial information is clear, timely, and aligned with stakeholder expectations.
This role is ideal for a commercially astute leaderwith deep financial expertise, a passion for team development, and the ability to translate complex financials into meaningful business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Group’s P&L and commercial cashflow performance, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Provide financial support for M&A activity, including acquisitions, divestments, and related strategic evaluations.
- Lead commercial analysis across contracts, cost management, capital expenditure, working capital, and strategic initiatives to drive strong financial outcomes.
- Manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process, including preparation and delivery of Group-level presentations.
- Oversee regular re-forecasting cycles, challenging assumptions and ensuring key business drivers are well understood.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to automate and consolidate forecasts for P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow.
- Deliver insightful business performance analysis, trend identification, and benchmarking across the Group.
- Collaborate with Strategy to support growth initiatives, including capital projects and business expansion opportunities.
- Partner with the CFO and executive leadership to execute IXOM’s strategic financial plans.
- Present financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to senior stakeholders, articulating risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.
- Independently review and challenge Business Unit growth plans to ensure commercial rigour.
- Define and manage Group-wide budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation processes.
- Oversee period-end close processes, including Group consolidation and reporting to shareholders
- Lead the Finance Business Partnering function to enhance commercial decision-making and ensure fit-for-purpose financial reporting.
- Drive cost control initiatives through deep understanding of cost drivers and operational levers.
- Support investment case development for acquisitions, divestments, capital projects, and procurement decisions.
- Manage Group cashflow and banking covenant reporting requirements.
- Govern the capital expenditure lifecycle, including forecasting and reporting.
- Lead Finance Governance & Controls to ensure compliance and financial integrity.
- Mentor and coach Finance team members to build capability and support career development
Who are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, finance or business administration
- CPA or CA professional qualification / license
- 10+ years in senior finance roles including FP&A or commercial finance and with the last 2 years having demonstrated experience working with Leadership teams
- Excellent commercial acumen and proven experience in business growth success
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, able to influence senior stakeholders and drive successful business outcomes
- Proven experience in managing, engaging and motivating a team, communication direction and developing talent and capabilities
