About your role

 

We are currently searching for a financial controller to join our team as a key member of the IXOM Finance function.  This role – Financial Services Manager – is accountable for managing financial accounting activities with a critical part of the role to drive compliance to group policies, internal controls and governance.  The quality of data and accuracy is key outcome, while ensuring effective processes and procedures for key accounting activities are in place.

Leading a large team, you will take ownership and effective delivery of all financial accounting information across Australia, New Zealand, US and SE Asia, together with managing the leadership and people development.   

This role will also encompass accountability as Finance Business Partner for IXOM Corporate functions, involving providing support to senior leadership teams in development of financial plans, budgets and forecasts.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage Financial Services team through process of closing month and year end including oversight of the posting of journals, general ledger close and submission of HFM load to support delivery of business performance results
  • Support the quarterly Balance Sheet review process as part of stewardship including standardised reporting of risks and opportunities and investigation, follow up and resolution of any aged or high risk items across IXOM
  • Ensure compliance to internal controls as set and governed via the group internal control framework and provide regular reporting to Group Finance and other key stakeholders, including supporting any remediation requirements
  • Oversee and manage group-wide accounting policies and procedures including Slow Moving and Obsolete Stock, Fixed Asset verification, Revenue Recognition
  • Actively engage with Business Unit Finance Business Partners to ensure day-to-day accounting activities comply to Group accounting policies and procedures or specific Country regulations, laws and standards
  • Working with Group Finance and Group Tax, support information requests and analysis as part of quarterly/half year reviews and as part of audit (external/internal) requirements
  • Preparation, analysis and presentation of financial plans, budgets and forecasts for Corporate (Enabling) functions to senior leadership teams by providing fact-based insight and articulating the key risks, opportunities and key drivers of cost base
  • Build and mentor a high-performing finance team fostering a collaborative culture with a focus on excellence and continuous improvement

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance / Accounting; and CA or CPA qualified
  • 10+ years in senior finance roles including as Financial Controller; some manufacturing and supply chain experience is beneficial
  • Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in management accounting
  • Strong analytical / problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of systems and tools including SAP, HFM, Power BI and advanced Excel skills
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written), able to influence senior stakeholders
  • Proven experience in managing, engaging and motivating a team and developing talent and capabilities
  • Ability to balance multiple demands, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to drive process / continuous improvement and with focus on challenging status quo
