About your role

 

As an Account Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving new customer growth and expanding Ixom’s presence across the Life Sciences, ABP, and Personal Care markets throughout Melbourne and Victoria. This role is all about identifying opportunities, developing strong commercial relationships, and delivering value through Ixom’s extensive portfolio of specialist materials.

 

You’ll lead new business development while also nurturing and growing existing customer accounts. Success in this role comes from understanding customer needs deeply, collaborating closely with technical experts, and providing tailored product and service solutions that support long‑term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure all customer and product‑related SH&E requirements are met in line with Ixom policies and timeframes, maintaining zero recordable SH&E incidents.
  • Proactively identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities to drive revenue, volume, and margin growth across the ABP and Personal Care segments.
  • Support existing customers while generating high‑quality leads through purposeful engagement, including visits, calls, and written communication.
  • Analyse account performance and market potential to prioritise high‑value prospects and focus efforts where growth potential is greatest.
  • Provide market insights to support pricing decisions, product planning, and broader growth strategies.
  • Prepare proposals, quotes, tenders, and RFQ responses to secure new business.
  • Maintain accurate customer information and master data within the CRM.
  • Draft customer contracts and approval requests, working with Product Management and other internal stakeholders to secure optimal commercial outcomes for Ixom.
  • Partner with Customer Service to monitor the sales process and resolve customer issues or complaints.

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • At least 10 years of experience in B2B business development, ideally within the Essential Oils, Life Sciences, or Personal Care markets.
  • A tertiary qualifications in a technical discipline would be advantageous
  • A demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and convert new customer opportunities into sustainable commercial outcomes.
  • A strong track record in solution‑based selling, with the capability to align customer needs with technical product offerings.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems for lead generation, pipeline management, and opportunity tracking.
  • Highly developed negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
