About your role
Due to some internal progression and movement, we are currently searching for a Process Engineering Manager to join our Watercare team, in an initial 12-month fixed term contract, based in either Melbourne or Sydney.
In this role you will be responsible for leading the Watercare APAC process engineering team to provide all engineering requirements for business proposals, feasibility studies, O&M contracts and project delivery. This role involves developing, implementing and optimising processes to improve productivity and quality, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
You will also actively contribute to the Watercare APAC Leadership Team by collaborating with peers, representing IXOM with customers during sales and delivery phases of contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project process design, commissioning and other duties as required by the Watercare APAC business
- Lead the process engineering team to produce consulting reports, site visit reports, P&IDs, equipment lists/datasheets, HazOp studies, commissioning plans and O&M manuals
- Provide guidance, direction and mentoring to process engineers coupled with technical leadership in water / wastewater projects
- Ensure that process engineering activities (design and commissioning) are conducted at or above IXOM's standards of safety, health and environment
- Lead the team to assist with bid tasks including but not limited to: cost estimation, concept design & develop commercial and technical proposals for new Watercare APAC projects and O&M contracts
- Be key interface with membrane suppliers, technology suppliers & consultants to enable application of best technology for each solution
- Evaluate new water treatment technologies
- Maintain and grow relationships with suppliers and technology providers to ensure IXOM maintains its competitive advantage technically and commercially
Who are we looking for?
- Tertiary qualification in Process or Chemical Engineering
- Previous experience within the water treatment industry
- People management experience with a passion for investing in the development and mentoring of others
- 10+ years of experience within a similar role
- Client focus and a track record of being able to build and maintain long term client relationships
- Demonstrated practical experience and strong technical expertise and knowledge of process modelling, design, commissioning, operation and optimisation of water treatment plants
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work on numerous projects simultaneously
- Demonstrable ability to negotiate and influence others to deliver agreed project outcomes
- Chartered professional engineer status through Engineers Australia and be eligible for RPEQ status – advantageous but not essential
