About your role

IXOM is on an exciting growth trajectory, and we’re seeking a commercially astute Product Manager to take the lead on our Imported Bulk Liquids portfolio within the Traded Products team. Based at our Melbourne Head Office, this is a high-impact, end-to-end role where you’ll oversee the full commercial lifecycle — from global sourcing and supply chain planning to marketing, sales execution, and portfolio profitability.

As Product Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of IXOM’s expansion across diverse end markets. You’ll collaborate with suppliers, and cross-functional teams to optimise product performance, identify new opportunities, and drive sustainable financial returns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimise financial returns through retention and growth of existing product volumes and expansion via new product introductions
  • Secure favourable cost positions and working capital terms with suppliers and across the supply chain
  • Monitor S&OP alongside market supply and demand dynamics to optimise volume and margin for each product and shipment
  • Maintain current market intelligence across all products and services
  • Conduct annual reviews of product and supply chain plans with key stakeholders, incorporating external drivers, market trends, and SWOT analysis
  • Collaborate with Business Development to identify growth initiatives, new products, technologies, and supplier strategies
  • Partner with sales teams on account planning and progression of sales pipelines and growth opportunities
  • Manage Principal and Supplier relationships to meet contract expectations and drive best-in-class pricing, margin, and Trade Working Capital outcomes
  • Fulfil all supplier and product-related SH&E requirements within defined timeframes and policy guidelines

Who are we looking for?

  • Tertiary qualification in a technical discipline (Chemistry, Engineering, Supply Chain etc) is preferred but not essential
  • Experience in bulk value chains, ideally within chemical distribution, including sourcing, shipping, storage, and local logistics
  • Proficient in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), with expertise in managing bulk product and service pricing and commercial offerings
  • Strong commercial acumen underpinned by understanding of bulk supply chains and the principles of bulk product procurement and market analysis
  • Proven experience managing commercial budgets, including currency movements, cash flow, trading, and commodities across Asia and ANZ markets
  • Effective problem solver with the ability to influence, build strong relationships, and maintain a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to travel internationally three to four times a year.
