About your role

 

IXOM is seeking a dedicated and experienced Return to Work (RTW) Advisor to join our team. The RTW Advisor will play a crucial role in guiding injured employees through their return-to-work journey, focusing on meaningful and sustainable recovery outcomes that support both the individual and the business while maintaining compliance with legislation.

 

This role involves working closely with internal leaders, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders to create tailored return-to-work plans. Additionally, the RTW Advisor will contribute to broader health and wellbeing initiatives that enhance workplace safety and injury prevention.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Injury Management and RTW: Manage RTW for work-related and non-work-related injuries, including early intervention and workers' compensation.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company code of conduct.
  • Drug and Alcohol Cases: Manage RTW for drug and alcohol cases with support from the Health and Wellness Manager and Occupational Health Nurse.
  • Ergonomic Assessments: Complete or review ergonomic assessments and provide necessary equipment.
  • Data Management: Maintain accuracy of data within SolvInjury and other injury tracking platforms.
  • Incident Follow-Up: Follow up on incidents and promote a positive workers' compensation/safety culture.
  • Service Provider Monitoring: Monitor the effectiveness of service providers (e.g., rehabilitation).
  • Policy Compliance: Monitor compliance with workplace policies and procedures.
  • Awareness and Training: Support management and staff awareness of workers' compensation responsibilities and accountabilities.

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • You must hold a RTW certification in Victoria and a full Victorian driver’s license
  • National RTW advisor experience (NSW/VIC/QLD)
  • Tertiary qualifications in an allied health field (e.g., Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapy) will be highly regarded
  • Ability to travel locally in Melbourne to our IXOM sites
  • Previous experience in injury management and workers' compensation
  • Chemical handling/manufacturing industry experience is extremely favourable
  • Proactive and flexible approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian WHS legislation and practices (including Fair Work legislation, Disability Act, Privacy Act)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence local teams, hold difficult conversations and communicate with the senior leadership team
