The Role

 

As our business continues to grow, we are searching for a SHE Advisor – Operations to join our team reporting to our SHE Manager – Operations based in our Head Office in Melbourne. This role will provide direct Safety, Health & Environment support and guidance to site operations across Australia.

You will be responsible for ensuring compliance to legislation and regulatory requirements, along with alignment to the IXOM framework, systems, processes and ongoing initiatives.

 

As this role has a national focus and will support our sites across Australia, there will be a requirement of travel for the successful candidate to be comfortable with.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver the implementation of Ixom's health and safety management systems across manufacturing sites and business units
  • Provide specialist advice on functional and site-specific application of the integrated Ixom SHEQ and critical risk management systems and processes
  • Support and monitor annual SH&E and Sustainability Improvement Plans
  • Participate and facilitate risk assessments
  • Communicate legislation and SH&E and Sustainability system changes to the business and sites as and when required
  • Provide advice on site and operational compliance to the regulatory framework
  • Support, participate or lead investigations when required to ensure consistency and thoroughness
  • Coach, share and support good SH&E and Sustainability practices and processes
  • Grow organisational capability by provision of training
  • Assist with developing MHF Safety Case submissions
  • Identification and communication of SHE issues and trends for shared learning across stakeholder groups

 

Skills & Experience

 

  •  Previous experience in a similar role (preferably in heavy industry, supply chain, hazardous materials)
  • Knowledge of relevant AU Health and Safety legislation
  • Degree qualified or Safety Certified Practitioner in relevant discipline or Auditing Certification would be advantageous
  • Experience with Major Hazard Facilities would be very highly regarded
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and build strong and trusting relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
  • Proven experience influencing and supporting stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and drive for longer periods as/when required
