Your role 

 

We currently have a rare opportunity for a Sales Manager – Industrial Packaged and Bulk to join our Traded Products team.

 

This role will lead, motivate, coach, and develop the Industrial Packaged and Bulk team to grow the product portfolio, to meet targets in line with our growth strategy. Managing a team of direct reports (currently 12), you will ensure the provision of proactive, solution-focused account management, maintaining existing business and growth by winning new business. A key aspect of this role is to monitor team performance against financial targets and activity KPIs and collaboration with key commercial team members with a wide range of functions to ensure positive outcomes for our customers.

 

 

Your responsibilities

 

  • Be a proactive and engaging leader living and driving IXOM’s value (The EDGE), purpose and strategic framework
  • Develop and monitor KPI’s for each individual team member, leading and coaching them to ensure they have the skills and tools to achieve both their own KPI’s and the teams annual budget targets
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development to ensure continuous improvement in staff performance and support succession planning processes
  • Ensure that volume, revenue, and gross margin budgets are achieved through the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of profitable new business
  • Support your Account Management team to manage and maintain a large number of customer accounts – developing sales strategies for key industries and Identifying and acting upon new growth opportunities to improve business profitability
  • Create and execute a strategic sales plans that optimises our customer base and extends the company's market shares
  • Partner with Industry Leads and Product Managements across business units to develop solutions / sell products and provide them with market intelligence
  • Guide sales team on proposals, tender submissions, RFQ responses, pricing letters, customer negotiations and preparation of contract documentation
  • Be the teams CRM champion to ensure the sales team maintains all key customer information and ensure master data is accurate
  • Ensure the highest possible level of customer satisfaction during every interaction with the sales team
  • Lead safety outcomes for customers and the Sales team

 

 

Your skills & experience

 

  • A bachelors degree in a relevant technical or business area, ideally in Chemical / Process Engineering or science.
  • Ideally a minimum of approx. 5-7 years’ previous sales experience, with a proven track record at a similar senior / leadership level, leading large sales teams
  • Have experience in a related chemical industry - chemical manufacture, chemical cleaning, personal care, building and construction etc.
  • Be a strategic, analytical thinker, able to plan and implement sales strategies
  • Experience with major tender submissions, contract documentation and management
  • Dedication to providing superior customer service with demonstrated customer relationship management and strong negotiation capabilities
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills
  • The ability to adapt your leadership stye to individual team members, flexing between captain and coach as required enabling you to coach and lead your team, whilst holding them accountable
  • Experience in performance management
  • Experience in process optimisation
  • Work well under pressure
