We're seeking a Sales Manager – Water & Energy to lead one of IXOM's most significant commercial portfolios. This role sits at the heart of an industry that helps deliver safe and reliable drinking water to millions of Australians, working with major utilities and essential service providers across the country.

 

This is a rare opportunity to lead a highly capable national team, manage complex customer partnerships, and drive the commercial success of one of IXOM's most important business units. The role has national responsibility, supports a high value revenue portfolio and leads a team of experienced sales professionals.

Key Responsibilities

 

This is a nationally focused sales leadership role overseeing key customer relationships across the Water & Energy sector.

 

You'll lead a team of experienced sales professionals while maintaining executive-level relationships with some of Australia's largest utilities and essential service providers. Your focus will be on driving commercial performance, managing complex contracts and tender processes, and ensuring IXOM continues to be a trusted partner to critical infrastructure providers.

 

The role offers a unique blend of team leadership and strategic account management, with regular engagement across procurement, operations, technical and executive customer stakeholders.

 

  • Lead and develop a national Water & Energy sales team to achieve commercial and strategic objectives.
  • Manage and support complex contract negotiations, tender submissions and key customer engagements.
  • Drive revenue growth, customer retention and long-term contract performance.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with major utility and energy customers.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Identify market opportunities and competitive advantages that strengthen IXOM's position.
  • Ensure strong commercial discipline across pricing, contracts and portfolio performance.

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • Proven leadership experience managing sales, commercial or key account teams.
  • Experience within the chemical manufacturing, water or industrial sectors.
  • Demonstrated success managing large customer contracts and complex negotiations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent financial and numerical capability.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on outcomes and accountability.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude, ideally supported by experience in chemicals, engineering or related industries.

 

Highly regarded:

 

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Science, Chemistry or a related discipline.
