About your role
Reporting to the Head of Finance - Life Sciences, you'll act as the operational finance partner to multiple manufacturing sites, helping improve financial performance, strengthen product costing disciplines and support commercial decision-making.
A key focus of the role will be establishing and improving product costing frameworks, partnering with operations to understand manufacturing performance and providing financial insights that drive better business outcomes. You'll also play an important role in supporting pricing decisions, new product introductions and business transformation initiatives.
This role will initially focus heavily on our ABP manufacturing operations and therefore be based at their sites across Hallam and Lynbrook, before transitioning to have 1 day at the IXOM Head Office per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with operational leaders to improve financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Lead the development and ongoing improvement of product costing and standard costing methodologies.
- Analyse factory performance, labour efficiencies and operational variances to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Provide financial support and commercial insights for pricing, forecasting and budgeting activities.
- Support inventory valuation, margin analysis and financial reporting activities.
- Assist with new product introductions through robust costing and financial modelling in collaboration with our Senior Finance Analyst - Commercial
- Develop reporting, dashboards and KPI insights to support operational performance.
- Drive process improvements and implement operational finance frameworks across the business.
Who are we looking for?
- CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion).
- Strong product costing experience within a manufacturing or operational finance environment.
- Experience in management accounting, financial analysis and business partnering.
- Experience in FMCG, food, beverage, manufacturing, packaging or other production-based industries.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and challenge assumptions constructively.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems (SAP advantageous).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial information into practical business insights.
- Comfortable working in environments undergoing change and building processes where mature frameworks don't yet exist.
- Experience implementing new processes, systems or operational finance frameworks.
