Taxation Manager

About your role
IXOM is seeking an experienced and proactive Taxation Manager to lead and support the business in meeting its complex tax obligations across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting to the Head of Taxation, this role is responsible for direct and indirect tax compliance, providing strategic tax advice, overseeing transfer pricing processes, and ensuring robust governance and documentation.
You’ll play a key role in partnering with internal stakeholders and external advisors, managing relationships with revenue authorities, and contributing to strategic initiatives including M&A and legislative change.
Key Responsibilities
The Taxation Manager will work closely with the Head of Taxation in meeting all of IXOM’s tax requirements, including:
- Preparation and filing of BAS/GST (AU/NZ), Payroll Tax, NZ FBT, UK VAT, and Singapore GST
- Preparation of annual tax filings including AU/NZ tax returns, FBT, and payroll tax reconciliations
- Lead the preparation and calculation of R&D tax claims (AU/NZ)
- Manage monthly and annual tax effect accounting calculations
- Provide expert advice on tax implications of accounting positions and business decisions
- Collaborate with commercial finance and external advisors to maintain and adjust transfer pricing methodologies
- Provide strategic tax advice on business-as-usual and non-standard matters
- Act as a key liaison between the business and external tax advisors
- Maintain and review compliance documentation and tax policies
- Contribute to annual reviews of the Tax Risk Management Policy and related governance frameworks
- Manage relationships with ATO, NZ IRD, and state revenue offices
- Oversee government registration processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Hold banking credentials for tax and high-value corporate payments
- Prepare reconciliations for key tax accounts in AU/NZ
- Ensure master data accuracy for tax-relevant records
- Support M&A activity and implementation of new legislation
- Provide tax-related input into systems updates and business transformation projects
Who are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- CPA or CA professional qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a tax or finance role
- Strong leadership and communication skills, able to influence senior stakeholders and drive successful business outcomes
- Excellent analytical and numerical capabilities
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and drive outcomes
- Must be eligible to hold an Australian myGovID for tax authority access
