About your role
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will support the safe and efficient operation of the Epping site while contributing to key safety, compliance, maintenance, and improvement initiatives.
We are seeking a Junior Chemical Engineer to join our Epping manufacturing site on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Chemical Engineer looking to gain hands-on experience across manufacturing, process safety, maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement within a complex industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Developing and reviewing operating procedures and work instructions
- Supporting risk assessments, safety initiatives, audits, and compliance activities
- Assisting with incident investigations and corrective actions
- Supporting maintenance planning and reliability improvement activities
- Managing contractors and assisting with small engineering projects
- Monitoring plant performance and identifying improvement opportunities
- Supporting operational reporting, inspections, and site compliance requirements
- Working collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement
Who are we looking for?
Essential
- Degree qualification in Chemical Engineering
- 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- A strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Desirable
- Experience in chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, oil & gas, refinery, or hazardous goods environments
- Exposure to maintenance, reliability, or operational improvement projects
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods and regulatory compliance requirements
- Experience with SAP or similar maintenance management systems
