About your role
It is an exciting time to join our business as we continue along our journey of ongoing expansion, change, and transformation. An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Officer to join our Kings Park team.
This is an autonomous role, reporting into the Quality Assurance Lead based in Villawood, NSW where you will contribute to Quality Assurance and regulatory activities within our manufacturing business. You will be a member of wider Quality community group where experiences and learnings are shared across the wider IXOM business. This role will suit a Quality Assurance professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and progress in an independent role.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work at our Kings Park site 5 days a week, with some flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribution to the maintenance of a compliant quality assurance system and processes for the manufactured business area
- Ensuring successful external certifications are maintained as required by the business
- Work with the commercial and operational teams to ensure all quality requirements are met for products supplied in the business area
- Liaison with regulators and other key influences relevant to the manufactured business where required
- Monitoring literature, legislation, standards and other relevant information and communication of relevant changes and other information to the business
- Perform internal audits and inspections as required by the quality system
- Lead the resolution of quality incidents and quality customer complaints within the manufactured business area
- Support and build a food safety culture
- Maintain compliance to QMS, HACCP and food safety documentation including Halal, Kosher and Rainforest requirements.
- Maintain Allergen Management Program through cleaning and allergen verification activities
- Monthly reporting to the site for key quality objectives
- Perform back up Quality Chemist responsibilities
Who are we looking for?
- Tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Biology, Food Technology, Microbiology or a related discipline
- 3 plus years in the food industry in a quality assurance role with knowledge of HACCP, VACCP and TACCP would be ideal
- Experience as HACCP Team Leader are preferred
- Proven ability to juggle competitive timelines and priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders and work as part of a team while also working autonomously
- Internal and external audit experience on FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, Halal and Kosher or similar fields
- Quality Chemist experience
- Safety experience is desirable but not essential
- Ability to work across a matrix organisation
- Understanding of Australian and international legislation and standards
