About your role
As an Account Manager at IXOM, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting and expanding a diverse industrial customer base. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in chemical distribution and industrial sales, enjoys building meaningful partnerships, and understands how to translate customer needs into tailored material solutions.
You’ll represent IXOM across a portfolio of industrial customers—particularly within Surface Coatings, Adhesives & Sealants, Roads & Surfaces, Concrete & Cement, Building & Construction Materials, and Industrial & Domestic Cleaning product manufacturers. Your work will directly contribute to commercial growth by connecting customers with IXOM’s extensive range of specialist materials, global principals, and local manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve revenue, volume, and margin targets through effective planning and customer engagement.
- Build strong, long‑term customer relationships by engaging regularly with technical, commercial, and procurement teams.
- Develop new business opportunities through proactive outreach, research, and effective CRM utilisation.
- Lead regular customer meetings to strengthen relationships, understand needs, and gather market insights.
- Identify and progress growth opportunities by aligning IXOM’s materials and solutions with customer requirements.
- Support commercial discussions, including pricing proposals, tenders, RFQs, and contract conversations.
- Maintain accurate pricing and customer data in SAP and CRM systems.
- Share timely market insights with Product Managers and Industry Leads to support pricing and strategic decisions.
- Promote SHE&Q compliance by ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory requirements are met.
- Work closely with internal teams—Customer Service, Logistics, Product Managers—to deliver smooth and positive customer outcomes.
Who are we looking for?
- Strong understanding of industry codes, regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to chemical products.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Commerce, or Engineering (or equivalent technical/commercial discipline).
- Ability to understand end‑use applications and customer processes, ideally within the industrial sector.
- 3–5 years of B2B sales experience—experience in the chemical industry or industrial materials markets is highly regarded.
