About your role

We are currently searching for an Electrical Engineer to join our on-site team based at our Major Hazard Facility in Botany, NSW. Supporting our 24/4, 365 day ChlorAlkali plant this is a critical role to IXOM’s overall operations.

In this autonomous role, you will join our ANZ Maintenance team and provide specialised electrical and control systems technical advice and support to our manufacturing and maintenance Botany teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to ensuring SH&E compliance and targets are achieved
  • Implementing site reliability strategy to achieve lowest cost, high uptime and world class plant performance
  • Implement preventative, predictive & proactive maintenance programs
  • Providing breakdown DCS, trip, PLC, plant IT and instrumentation troubleshooting & support
  • Reviewing equipment failures & implementing improvements
  • Plan & manage work scope for complex control/trip/plant and industrial IT activities including functional safety
  • Appropriate equipment spares are stocked and/or available
  • Minor & Major projects to improve plant operation, safety and/or reliability in the control & trip function
  • Ensure a world class plant control function is provided to internal customers
  • Provide plant control engineering support to a team of skilled employees and contractors

 

Who are we looking for?

  • Significant proven knowledge and expertise in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering pertaining to the safety and reliability of industrial manufacturing plants
  • Tertiary qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 8+ years hands on experience in maintaining a continuous process plant
  • Proven knowledge of in maintenance of E&I equipment including high voltage and low voltage instrumented systems
  • Familiarity managing PLCs and DCS systems with a particular focus on Allen-Bradley and Delta V
  • Strong working knowledge of process instrumentation, common industrial protocols, HV/ LV Switchroom equipment
  • Knowledge of safety systems including Risk Assessment, PTW and MOC system
  • Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry will be highly regarded
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a proactive attitude and a self-motivated approach
  • Strong interpersonal awareness with the ability to work well as part of a team
