About your role
We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Fitter to join our chemical manufacturing plant in Botany at the Botany Industrial Park in a permanent full-time role. In this role, you will carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance, contribute to weekly/monthly/shutdown plans, and monitor mechanical stock.
The site is a licensed Major Hazard Facility and is managed under a rigorous safety management system, ensuring employees and the community are protected.
This role is a Monday-Friday day shift opportunity, and this is a site-based role. The site also has some shutdowns each year which require 12-hour shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Work well within in a team environment to execute work safely, efficiently and to a high standard that prevents re-work
- Ensure that all work activities you undertake are conducted in compliance with SHEQ legislation and regulations
- Correct plant breakdowns in a timely and safe fashion
- Populate the asset management system to record the work performed
- Contribute and assist with implementing robust and effective monthly, weekly, and shut down plans that ensure planned maintenance is to schedule
- Contribute and implement small capital works project on the site
- Identify and contribute towards opportunities for reducing maintenance costs without negatively impacting site safety, environment compliance and/or levels of plant reliability
Who are we looking for?
- Trade qualified in fitting, turning or welding (Mechanical)
- Previous experience in a similar hands-on maintenance role
- Experience working in a chemical environment will be highly advantageous
- Prior experience in a heavy industry environment
- Computer literacy and an understanding of modern computerised maintenance systems
- CMMS usage
- Fault finding and problem-solving skills
- Enthusiasm, intelligence, dedication, and an eye for detail
