About your role

 

Due to an internal promotion, a unique opportunity for a Product Manager – Commodity Trading, has become available to join our Industrial team.  

 

The Product Manager role is a pivotal and critical supplier facing role that will see you manage and develop key relationships with our key global principals and suppliers, leveraging your networks and experience to identify and develop strategic growth opportunities, whilst collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes.  

This role is the ultimate commercial opportunity within the chemical industry, ideal for someone looking to realise their professional potential; leveraging their sales acumen and potentially open exciting future managerial career opportunities in a great business and industry. 

 

With offices based in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, we are flexible to where this role is based, working with a collaborative team in a hybrid environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Profitability, safety and growth the Water Treatment and Commodity Trading portfolio to meet financial, commercial and operations targets
  • Ensure compliance of product, packaging, documentation and Suppliers/Principals
  • Market research and analysis to identify market requirements
  • Cultivate and sustain strong Principal and Supplier relationships
  • Actively prospecting for new technologies, products, suppliers and customers
  • Establish product and marketing development plans
  • Analysis and monitor competitor activity
  • Contribute to the development of financial budgets
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies and monitor conformance

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • 10+ years in a Product, Sales or marketing management role within chemical distribution or related industry
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as Chemistry, Science or Business highly preferred
  • In depth knowledge of B2B product management and marketing
  • Experience in chemicals and chemical treatment technologies
  • Genuine new business development expertise with the ability to create opportunities through various channels
  • Being well versed in international trade, currency movements and financial literacy
  • Resilient, self-motivated, systematic, and driven by profitable growth
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to engage at executive level with multinational suppliers and customers
