Your role

 

We are currently searching for a Production Engineer to join our Botany Operations Management team, based at our Botany ChlorAlkali manufacturing plant (CAP), in a dynamic and exciting role.

 

Working closely with the Operations Manager, this position has a significant role in providing support and leadership to the operations team to ensure the ChlorAlkali manufacturing and business objectives are met.

 

You will be the first point of call for operational issues at the Botany CAP plant and you will provide expertise to the plant and operators

 

Your responsibilities

 

  • Accountable for the safe and efficient running of the Botany CAP and Re-packaging Plants
  • Accountable for process preparation planning for all major and minor shutdowns of CAP
  • Complete regular reporting of plant KPI's and Metrics
  • Manage escalation of plant production Issues as required, including out of hours
  • Supervise and ensure the effective operation of the Botany CAP and Repack facility safely in accordance with MHF and other statutory legislation
  • Participate and lead investigations as required and ensure corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence of incidents
  • Contribute to Hazard studies and plant designs reviews
  • Involvement in identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure operation of Botany ChlorAlkali plant safely in accordance with statutory legislation
  • Involvement in the planning of maintenance and reliability activities
  • Prepare maintenance permit to work packs for shutdown

 

Your skills & experience

 

  • Can do attitude with a focus on safety
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (ideally chemicals, or heavy, industrial manufacturing)
  • Tertiary qualification in Chemical, or Process Engineering would be desirable, however not essential
  • Experience in MHF and High-risk workplaces will be highly advantageous
  • Excellent stakeholder manager with strong influencing skills
  • Able to communicate at all levels of the organisation and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong skills in the Microsoft Suite, especially Excel, and ideally previous use of SAP for production, cost management and reporting
  • Exposure to storage and handling of dangerous goods
