The Role

 

As Regional Manufacturing Manager you will drive safety, quality, and efficiency at all sites within the region, ensuring effective manufacturing as required by the business, while meeting SH&E obligations, budget constraints, customer satisfaction and continual improvement in the quality of the operations and its people. This role will also drive consistency in manufacturing standards across the region, in line with agreed global manufacturing standards.

 

Duties

 

  • Ensure that the Ixom safety management system is fully implemented and maintained at the sites, and any gaps identified are included in the SHEQ improvement plan.
  • Responsible for end to end people management across the region, by coaching and developing employees and leaders
  • Understand and comply with all the regulations and licences that apply to the sites; Occupational Health and Safety legislation, Major Hazard Facility License, Environmental dangerous goods regulations, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relations with regulatory bodies and the local community
  • Ensure that the sites are maintained in a fit for purpose condition and that suitably trained resources are available
  • Technical leader for production and process. Troubleshoot and maintain process integrity.
  • Develop fixed cost budgets and control costs to the agreed budget.
  • Implement processes to identify and implement operational efficiency opportunities
  • Collaborate with commercial and sales personnel in providing input to growth capital plans and projects.

 

Skills & Experience

 

  • Tertiary qualified in Process Engineering is highly desirable or another form of Engineering degree
  • Previous experience leading multi-site/large manufacturing operations preferably in the Chemical or Oil & Gas industry
  • Demonstrated safety performance record
  • Experience leading high-performance teams with a strong focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Prior experience working in a Major Hazard Facility
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in LEAN manufacturing principles
  • Industrial Relations experience, and dealing with a unionised workforce
  • Good understanding and demonstrated experience of site based financial metrics and performance
  • Excellent stakeholder and negotiation skills to build relationships at all levels
