Ixom Bulk Liquid Transport (BLT) is the company owned transport arm of Ixom NZ distributing bulk class 8 chemicals New Zealand wide. Ixom are key suppliers of bulk chemicals to the Dairy, Food, Pulp and Paper, Watercare and Industrial industries as well as various other niche processing businesses in the New Zealand market.
Ixom’s transport fleet has it roots in the Chemical Cleaning era and has been transporting our own products since the early 1960’s and continues a proud tradition of solving our customer challenges every day
The Role
We are currently searching for an experienced Bulk Liquid Transport (BLT) Driver to join our team based in Mount Maunganui. An excellent remuneration package is on offer for the right candidate, we pay a monthly salary includes daily allowances, plus additional hours at penal rates.
This role is Day shift, operating out of our Mount Maunganui site on a 4 days on and 4 days off roster, however you need to be aware that things can change as we strive to meet the needs of our customers. Full and comprehensive training will be provided, Uniform and PPE is provided. We operate high quality late model equipment on a regular replacement program.
Key Responsibilities
- Completion of all loads assigned to them on the rostered shift, as well as the successful completion of the total shifts allocated loads.
- Ensures that everything they do while off the IXOM site, on public roads, on other sites and on customers’ properties positively impacts on the image of IXOM.
- Ensure that the working relationships they have with all Customers are constructive, respectful and focused on win/win
- Ensures that all handling of product, is carried out in a way that maximises safety of people and minimises risk to the product
- Ensure the housekeeping and hygiene of the vehicle and any other equipment used in the process of loading and delivering chemical is kept in well maintained state.
- Commit to quality in the total operations (both product and service quality)
- Ensure the vehicle is safe and ready for operating effectively in all environmental conditions. Aware of all rules and guidelines and keep within them.
- Act in a safe manner at all times, and ensure that all potential for injury is minimised, and hazards are identified
Skills & Experience
- An experienced Class 5 driver.
- Ideally 2 years’ operating at class 5 with ideally Dangerous Goods experience
- You must be honest, trustworthy and be able to work independently.
- Someone who is health and safety focused.
- Has good time management skills and be able to work unsupervised.
- Understand the HPMV permit system and comply with their conditions.
- You will need to be able to reverse a B Train or truck and trailer.
- Are prepared to work and stay away from home.
- Be a good communicator.
- Have some mechanical knowledge and be able to use technology with some competence.
- You will need to be fit and healthy.
- You will need to be able to pass a medical examination including a drug and alcohol test pre-employment as well as randomly over time as required.
- You will need to be well presented and take pride in the equipment we operate.
- You must be a New Zealand resident.
