Your role

 

We currently have an opportunity for a Market Manager – Pulp & Paper to join our Traded Products team. In this role, you will be responsible for the product and sales strategy and profitability for your end market product portfolio and for the generation of product plans to support the various IXOM end market strategies.

 

You will also be directly managing your own product portfolio as well as leading a small team of Technical Account Managers. You will lead, motivate, coach, and develop the team to ensure that volume, revenue, and gross margin budgets are achieved through the provision of proactive, solution-focused account management, maintaining existing business and growth by winning new business.

 

The Market Manager will also work with the broader team across Ixom to ensure a consistent level of service across major customers in ANZ and collaborate with a wide range of functions to ensure positive outcomes for our customers.

 

Your responsibilities

 

  • Creation of a strategic plan capturing their team’s full scope of portfolios including key Principal and Supplier tactics, identification of synergies and optimisation across the portfolio of product managers and products, plans for the acquisition of new Principals and Suppliers to compliment portfolio and penetrate new markets, and business development strategies
  • Build and manage a healthy pipeline of customer growth opportunities and generate leads through customer interactions
  • Ensure robust processes are in place to optimise Customer profitability and major supply contracts across ANZ
  • Review account performance to inform account prioritisation decisions (e.g. shift greater attention onto growth accounts)
  • Effectively partner with Business Managers, other Sales Managers and Product roles across business units to develop solutions and provide market intelligence to assist with pricing, product plans and industry strategies
  • Lead the sales team to develop customer engagement plans to build broad and deep relationships and to achieve ‘best-in-class’ pricing, margin & TWC management
  • Monitor market share through customer data and market intelligence analysis to ensure IXOM maintains a leadership position in priority markets and geographies
  • Ensure all customer and product related SH&E requirements are met within the defined timeframe and guidelines of the Ixom SH&E policy

Your skills & experience

 

  • Tertiary Qualification in a technical discipline (engineering or science), or equivalent industry experience is required
  • Strong proven experience in the Pulp & Paper industry (or similar) and have reputable position in the industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in B2B sales, technical and/or product management dealing with chemicals
  • Previous experience leading and developing others either by a dotted line or direct report structure
  • Negotiation and influencing skills required, including ability to communicate with mid-senior management level customer focused or sales environment would be advantageous
  • Strong commercial acumen ideally gained in a commercial pricing and contract management capacity
  • Demonstrated responsibility designing and implementing a growth strategy
  • Experience driving continuous improvement into a business, including identifying growth opportunities, streamlining of processes, removing duplication
  • Experience in bid preparation, contract negotiation, contract performance management would be very highly regarded
  • Experience in product development and/or innovation process delivery is preferred
