About your role

 

Due to business growth, we are currently recruiting for two opportunities to join our Sales team. This role offers the opportunity to join our industry leading Sales team as a Technical Account Manager. This role will partner closely with the FarmGuard Sales Manager and Product Manager to develop solutions and sell products to our existing and new customers and  ensure activities from sales lead generation through to close in an assigned territory.

We are looking for Technical Account Managers in two locations below;

 

  • Mt Maunganui – Based Central North Island
  • Timaru, Based Invercargill Central Southland

 

Reporting to our Sales Manager, this technical sales role will allow you to nurture existing relationships and hunt out new business development opportunities. You will also consistently provide technical know-how to your customers. Most of your customers will be based remotely, therefore there will be a lot of travel and autonomy involved for a self-motivated individual.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure all customer and product related SH&E requirements are met within the defined timeframe and guidelines of the Ixom SH&E policy
  • Lead the Regional TAM team using a structured sales process including monitoring and coaching to achieve active sales culture, sales, and growth
  • Ensure effective attraction, recruitment, retention, development, and motivation of a high performing and create values-based team
  • Contribute to the build-up of financial budgets for the FarmGuard business including the allocated territory - own the delivery of results to match or better those budgets
  • Effective monitoring and reporting of actual performance against target performance
  • Develop an annual regional plan and assist the team to develop, maintain, and implement their area plans for portfolio of customers / geographical area
  • Achieve sales growth and ensure the team also meet their growth targets
  • Regional relationship management including establishing and maintaining current clients and potential client relationships
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
  • Provide technical service and support to your team and provide technical service to customers when required

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • People management experience in leading an account manager team to achieve business objectives is preferred
  • 4-6 years of experience in the Agriculture or Dairy Farming Industry
  • Tertiary qualification along with qualifications in Agriculture or Dairy will be highly regarded
  • Strong understanding of customer and dairy/agricultural market dynamics and requirements
  • Willingness to travel and work in a team
  • Proven ability to achieve sales quotas
  • Role will require significant local travel to current and potential clients and may require occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work
