About your role

 

We are currently seeking a motivated and proactive Site and Terminals Manager to join our Narangba facility, reporting to our Head of Regional Manufacturing.

 

The Site and Terminals Manager will be responsible for the operations of the site, including all aspects of site management, warehousing and logistics of Dangerous Goods stored at the site and manufacturing of chemical products.

 

You will also be accountable for the unmanned Terminals management at Gladstone, Port Alma and Townsville, which will require frequent travel to these locations. You will oversee all aspects of storage and maintenance of the Terminals as well as operations unloading DG chemicals from ships berthing.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage and coordinate all warehouse and logistics operations on site, including storing, inventory, segregation and preservation of all DG and non-DG products
  • Operate and maintain the plant to achieve demand forecasts and future increases
  • Implementation, adherence and usage of IXOM’s SHEQ policies and procedures
  • Manage bulk shipping import/export operations, including monitoring stock levels and delivery schedules, organize and assist to unload cargo ships and maintain terminal integrity
  • Executing maintenance and operating strategies to maximise plant uptime, ensure execution of all PM and assist other sites with theirs
  • Ensure IXOM safety management system is fully implemented, maintained and gaps identified
  • Management and development of staff
  • Engage with customers to ensure their challenges are met in a timely manner
  • Weekly and monthly reporting of site activities and KPIs
  • Preparation, submission and execution of expenditure proposals

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering (preferably Chemical or Mechanical)
  • Accreditation as Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) and Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) is highly preferred OR extensive port/terminal operating experience
  • Strong experience in warehousing and logistics activities within a Dangerous Goods environment
  • Chemical manufacturing experience would be great, along with a strong warehousing and ports background
  • Previous experience in liaising and building relationships with port authorities
  • Experience on legislative framework and reporting associated with a DG/EPA/WHS manufacturing site and transportation facility
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently to our terminals in Gladstone, Port Alma and Townsville
  • Ability to work autonomously and be proactive in your approach
  • Ability to communicate effectively with and manage expectations of customers, regulators, and other internal stakeholders
  • Effective leadership of small teams in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience using SAP and maintenance systems, along with strong Microsoft Office suite experience will be essential for this role
