About your role

 

A rare and unique opportunity for a Technical Manager – Metallurgy, has become available to support and help grow our successful Mining and Metals business in the Eastern region of Australia.

 

Acting as our subject matter expert in the areas of Mineral Processing, this role offers a blend of technical support and commercial activities across our mining customers. This role is one that provides exciting future career opportunities in a great business and industry.

 

We are flexible with where you might be located in order to carry out this role. Our customers are predominantly located in Queensland and New South Wales so anywhere in those 2 states is preferred. We have offices located in Botany (NSW) and Narangba (QLD), however open for the ideal candidate to work remotely and travel as required.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Act as the subject matter expert in the areas of Mineral Processing application of reagents
  • Regular visits to customer mine sites to develop and maintain relationships and generate new business
  • Provide on-site and remote product and application support such as troubleshooting, plant trials and optimisation
  • Develop and maintain technical and strategic relationships with external customers
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Account Managers to assist you in identifying, contacting and develop new customers, selling new products and increasing market share
  • Lead R&D projects and strategic new product development initiatives

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • Tertiary Qualification in a technical discipline (Mineral processing, Metallurgy)
  • More than 10 years’ experience in relevant industry segments (Mineral processing, Metallurgy)
  • Base Metal flotation and critical mineral experience is preferred
  • Experience in a service and/or sales environment
  • Experience in managing customer accounts
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build longstanding relationships, negotiate and influence
  • Commercial acumen to truly understand the business development cycle, challenge current processes and offer insights to the product/technical management group
  • Ability to travel as required at least one week per month to visit and service our customers
